Refuge of Light is a nonprofit organization that provides a therapeutic residential home dedicated to the physical, mental and spiritual healing to female youth, 18-25 years, victimized by, or at risk for sexual exploitation within the United States.
The Mission of Refuge of Light is to provide a safe haven, redemptive rescue and restoration for sexually exploited female youth through advocacy, awareness and holistic care.
Our Programs
We have three main trauma-informed programs at Refuge of Light:
• Our specialized residential program, the Refuge Home, is for female youth 18-25 years of age who have been sexually exploited.
• Our non-residential mentoring programs, ‘BraveGirl’ & ‘BraveHeart’, for young girls and boys who are at a high risk for sex trafficking in East Texas along with our ‘Traffick Solutions’ educational and mentoring program for students and homeless females
• Our ‘Traffick Signals’ Training class for educating the community, because prevention is the key to success in winning this battle for our children
About Us
Refuge of Light is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the provision of physical, mental and spiritual healing to girls victimized by, and at risk for, commercial sexual exploitation of youth (CSEY) within the United States.
Our dream to help these girls began in 2008. The vision of Refuge of Light is to transform the broken life into the brilliant life through individualized plans of healing and restoration; to equip these young girls with confidence and the skills to realize and formulate their own vision for a new, healthy and meaningful life.
Our goal is to pour into their lives while advocating for their well being as well as introducing them to healthy relationships and rich life experiences and to provide complete wrap around services once they leave the safe home.
Get Involved
Do you have a heart to help with girls who are at risk or who have been sex trafficked? We have many ways you can get involved.
Opportunities include helping with the Refuge Safe Home or helping with the BraveGirl/BraveHeart or TrueWoman mentoring programs.
You can also get involved by financially supporting our programs on a regular basis or by donating items needed from time to time such as paper goods and candle/soap making supplies for our ‘Light the Way’ cottage business for our residents.
